2025/6/30 Job Expo

At the Fun-Expo, primary students explored different careers through exciting, hands-on games. They had a wonderful time playing and learning many new words for various jobs and professions.

2025/4/16 Pancake Making Activity

The classroom became a sweet kitchen. Students learned to make pancakes in English. They followed instructions, adding chocolate, candy, and creamy toppings. They also learned new cooking words like 'mix', 'flip', and 'delicious'. It was a fun, tasty English lesson.

2025/4/9 Learning English through Duolingo

Students boosted their English skills using the Duolingo app. They enjoyed learning new words and grammar through its fun, game-like lessons and activities.

2025/4/9 Easter Egg Hunt

Our school buzzed with Easter joy. Students hunted for colorful eggs using clever hints. Each hidden egg was a clue, leading them closer to fun prizes. Laughter filled the hallways as everyone enjoyed the exciting spring celebration together.

2025/3/5 Basketball Wednesday ft. Reggie Okosa

The English Department invited Reggie Okosa, a world-renowned former basketball player in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), to teach students basketball skills and play with them. Students gained a valuable opportunity to practice English by communicating with a native English-speaking sports star.

2025/2/19 Workplace Hunter

By using iPads to find Pokémon in designated workplace environments within a virtual space, students utilized technological tools to help them learn new English terms and gained a basic understanding of the job contexts associated with different occupations.

2025/1/22 Chess Game Fun Day

The Chess Game Fun Day required students competing in chess matches while discussing moves in English, learning chess-related vocabulary, and making new friends.

2024/12/18 Chrismas Party

The English Department hosted a festive and educational Christmas Celebration Event, enabled students and teachers to experience holiday cheer with creative language learning. Students enjoyed bunch of games and food and drinks. By combining seasonal joy with immersive language practice, students broadened their cultural background and boosted confidence in speaking English.

2024/12/6 NW Thanksgiving Week 南華感恩周

On December 6, 2024, the English, Religious Studies, Chinese, and Visual Arts departments held a heartwarming Thanksgiving event. Students enthusiastically immersed themselves in creating handmade cards, expressing their gratitude to family members, teachers, and schoolmates. The event was filled with joy and creativity as everyone actively participated, spreading the spirit of gratitude and kindness throughout the NW community. 

2024/11/13 History Quiz

The English Department organized a history quiz with history teachers. By participating in the English quiz conducted and coloring historical maps, students expanded their vocabulary with historical terms in English and gained a deeper understanding of European and American histories. 

2024/11/13 VR Workshop

An external technology company was invited to introduce students to VR games, creating an innovative and engaging learning experience. By integrating education with gaming, the activity sparked students' interest in learning English in a fun and interactive way. This also implied that STEAMS could help to improve language education.

2024/11/6-7 Movie Appreciation: My Neighbor Totoro

The theatre in the school library served as a cinema during lunch break. The screening of the film Totoro, presented with English subtitles and dubbing, provided everyone with a cross-cultural experience, blending captivating visuals with immersive language learning. 

2024/10/10 EAT Inaguration Ceremony

The English Department formed the EAT (short for English Ambassador Team), consisting of students from various grade levels. These dedicated ambassadors were committed to fostering an English-rich environment within the school. They were also active in supporting a wide range of English-related activities, helping to inspire a love for English across the school community. 

2024/10/9 3 on 3 Basketball

The English Department and the PE Department to co-host an exciting 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, played in a knockout format. Students and referees were required to communicate only in English, creating a unique opportunity for participants to practice sports-related vocabulary and phrases. Immersed in the high-energy atmosphere of the games, theyy sharpened their language skills but also experienced the thrill of competitive sports.

2024/9/25 Digital Maze Game

On English Focus Day, students engaged in an exciting digital maze game, enhancing their problem-solving skills. The collaborative environment encouraged teamwork, creativity, and strategic thinking as they navigated challenging levels together.
